Sol is a passionate medical educator who started his medical career in Australia in 2006. He spent a good five years working in the public health sector as a hospital medical officer and registrar, gaining valuable experience in Emergency Medicine, General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, General Medicine, Specialty Medicine, and Urology. In 2012, Sol decided to dive into rural general practice, and he's been loving the variety of patients and cases he gets to see in this incredibly rewarding field of medicine.
Dr Wilding is an experienced examiner for the RACGP who graduated from Monash University in 1996. He has worked in many fields of medicine and practiced around Australia, including South Gippsland, Darwin and Northern Territory. He is currently also a tutor at Melbourne University.
Dr Ardley is a keen medical educator who graduated from The University of Sydney in 2009. She had undertaken an intership at Western Hospital in Melbourne before being accepted into the Royal Children's Hospital training program as a JRMO, SRMO and Paediatric registrar before deciding on a move to general practice. A detour through Obstetrics/Gynaecology at Monash Health restulted in the DRANZCOG. Her areas of interest include paediatrics, women's health, antenatal care and family planning.
Dr Mountford graduated from the University of Sydney in 2005 and completed her hospital training at The Canberra Hospital. She completed her general practice training in 2010, and has been a GP supervisor for many years. She is also currently the Clinical Services Manager/Clinician at Sexual Health Victoria.
Dr Pakes is a passionate medical educator and a RACGP examiner. She graduated from Monash University and after several years in hospitals, commenced general practice and completed her FRACGP in 1992. She has worked in a variety of Melbourne general practices and is currently working as a tutor at Melbourne University and a Liaison Physician with VCS, while continuing in general practice. She has special interest in Women's health, travel medicine and sexual health.
Clinical Examiner
Dr Chadha is a keen medical educator and an OSCE examiner for RACGP. She completed her MBBS from India in 1997 followed by a Masters degree in ENT and continues her interests in academics by being part of part of the expert team at GP Academy. Dr Chadha's area of interest in research is allergic rhinitis, asthma, snoring, sleep apnoea, hearing loss and tinnitus.
Dr Proietto is a passionate medical educator at GP Academy. She completed her Doctor of Philosophy in 2007 in Immunology and a Post Doctoral fellowship in Immunology concurrent with medical school. After completing medical school in 2013, she worked in a number of metropolitan and rural hospitals in Melbourne before embarking on her GP training. She practices part-time as a GP in outer Melbourne and has special interests in obesity, child and adolescent health, women’s health and chronic disease management.
Dr Yew is currently a clinical skills tutor and OSCE examiner at Monash University and has mentored undergraduate medical students from Monash Univsersity and University of Tasmania. After graduating from Monash University with first class honours in 2011, she worked at Monash Health as a specialty resident for several years before embarking on general practice training. Kimberley is fellowed with the RACGP and is also a qualified GP anaesthetist having obtained her JCCA credentials.
Dr Purtell is passionate about all things GP and since RACGP fellowship, he has become a passionate medical educator. He has been a GP working in a small but busy tourist town since 2016 when he commenced his registrar training at the current practice. In the winter months, Rowan works at the Mt Hotham Ski fields practicing truly remote medicine in a challenging environment.
After graduating from Monash University in 2013, Dr Wong worked at Monash Health for several years as an emergency registrar before deciding to specialise in general practice. During her hospital registrar years, she was able to hone her broad range of medical interests in child and women’s health, mental health, minor surgical procedures and medical education through the supervision of interns and residents. She has also completed the Sydney Child Health Program and is further developing her skills in medical education.
Dr Johns graduated from Western Sydney University in 2015 as a Dean's Merit List Recipient. She worked at Concord Hospital and Broken Hill Base Hospital as a resident, developing experience and honing her interests in Paediatrics, Dermatology and Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and undertook the Diploma of Child Health in 2017. Marjia is passionate about ongoing medical education, and since completing her fellowship exams, has embarked on further training to develop her skills in skin cancer medicine, sexual health and mental health.
