I highly recommend GP Academy for preparation for the AKT/KFP. When I started GP training, I found... it daunting just how much information we were expected to know and how best to approach study for this exam. The way GP Academy structured their course, allowed me to approach it in a manner that was not overwhelming. Their resources are fantastic and their practice exam questions simulate the real exam. There is no doubt that this is the best preparation material that is out there for written examinations. Examinations aside, the clinical knowledge acquired from studying the course material closely, has allowed me to be the best doctor I can be. With their help, I was able to secure a P4 in both the AKT and KFP, I definitely could not have achieved that without GP Academy.read more

I learned many things from course which I attended, which is also useful in daily practice. It was... worth it.Only feedback I could provide is if all material can be released little early to have sufficient time for revision prior to exam would be helpful. But otherwise I really enjoyed and learned during course.Thank you to Sol and his whole team.read more

I had excellent experience with GP Academy, not just with preparing me for the fellowship exams,... but also proving a lot of educational resources. I passed all the exams in first attempt and I have to thanks the GP academy for their guidance and help. I did comprehensive courses for written and clinical tests. They have plenty of relevant materials on their website, so it saved me time to look for guidelines and most up to date information by myself. From their practice tests I learn how to organise my answers in KFP. From the clinical exam preparation, I gained the confidence and improved my performance by understanding what is it important in this exam. The GP Academy did not just prepare me very well for the exams, but also for my GP path.I will definitely recommend GP Academy as very valuable and knowledgeable resource which is preparing the doctors for fellowship exams and GP carrier.Thank you very much Sol and team for the great preparation course.read more

It has never been a rosy experience for me, in-fact the RACGP Fellowship journey has been my worst... nightmare ever. Having sailed through medical school and graduated in the early 90's, from a Nigerian University, never even failed any exams in the med school. I worked in several African Countries, bagged a Master of Public Health from a South African University, did a stint in Fiji and arrived Queensland Australia in 2015 on level 1 Limited registration even though I passed my PESCI at level 2. Got level 2 after barely 3 months but that was apparently the end of the good news, I struggled with the AMC clinical exam, I did not fare well either in the RACGP exams which I started sitting, in 2017. The Medical Board demoted me back to level 1 Supervision for not progressing and passing the exams. Even when I eventually started passing the RACGP exams (AKT) in 2020 after I discovered and started using GP Academy, the Medical Board changed the goal post and refused to upgrade my supervision level to level 2 or 3 despite my approved supervisors attesting to my clinical competency. They conjured a gestapo-like clinical performance assessment panel via zoom who were overtly biased in their judgement that I was incompetent in the English language and in my clinical performance. They decreed that I remain on level 1 supervision in February 2021. 2 weeks after their pronouncement, I passed my KFP and barely 9 months later in the same 2021 I passed my CCE, All thanks to GP Academy and God almighty. But our vindictive Medical Board will never leave sleeping dogs lie; I,ve had a lot of problems with them including a bizarre decision to still place me on level1 after attaining specialist registration but that's a story for another day. To cut the long story short, I,ve overcome that and still practicing as a Specialist registered GP today. Thank you Sol.read more

I highly recommend GP Academy, not only for passing the fellowship exams ( which it certainly does)... but also to learn more about day to day challenges in general practice. The star system in the portal helped me to prepare for the exam in most time efficient way and not to lose the plot in the pile of resources that I needed to go through before the exam. Frequently Asked Questions

GP Academy offers 4 full-length mock exams – 2x AKT and 2x KFP – for the written components of the RACGP fellowship exams. The full-length mock exams are accessed online and aim to simulate the actual RACGP exam conditions, giving you the perfect practice so you feel confident tackling the RACGP exams.

The mock exams are released at two different points throughout the course, allowing us to keep information as up-to-date as possible and ensure that questions adhere to clinical guidelines.

  • The AKT mock exams contain 150 questions that must be completed within 4 hours. You will be provided with their score and model answers.
  • The KFP mock exams contain 26 cases that must be completed within 4 hours. You will be provided with detailed answers after the completion of the exams.

Q-Banks, also known as Question-Banks, are a collection of verified questions, which have been selected and refined by GP Academy’s expert team. These questions have been designed to help you prepare for RACGP examinations.

You will get to practice over 1,200 AKT questions along with over 320 KFP cases (equivalent to 925 questions) on the platform throughout your AKT+KFP course. These questions are divided into multiple quizzes, mega quizzes and mock examinations.

All course material is supplied, but you will need to have a headset with a built-in noise-cancelling microphone to participate in the Live.Online webinars. The directional microphone feature in such headsets is highly recommended to enable a positive experience for you and other participants. The majority of default computer microphones and speakers are susceptible to feedback/echo, as well as picking up background noise.

The GP Academy offers a one discount policy for returning candidates as below:

Candidates who enrol in any Written Exams Course (AKT/KFP) for a second or otherwise subsequent time are eligible for a 27% discount (effective from 15 June 2017).

To obtain the discount code, please email admin@gpacademy.com.au before you register. You will then receive a discount code within 48 hours to apply when you register.

PLEASE NOTE: Discount codes must be requested prior to registering and utilised at the time of registration. GP Academy is not able to apply a discount or process a discount code after registration has been processed.

Please be advised that the GP Academy does not offer a returning candidate discount for Clinical Exams Programs.

GP Academy has stopped providing separate single courses because we strongly believe that the preparation process and knowledge required for each exam is very similar. Regardless of which exam the candidate needs to prepare for, the materials that they need to study are almost identical. The AKT and KFP both cover the same subjects in General Practice, only the style of question is different. For more information about specific courses, please refer to the relevant “Course Program”, located on the “Course Options” page.

The courses are designed to prepare candidates for the specific RACGP exam dates. Access to the portal is available until close of business on the examination date.

The Student Portal is carefully designed for each course and is de-activated following each exam. Therefore, extensions to the portal after the exam date are not possible.

All materials are online and are unable to be downloaded. They are available only for the duration of each course.

Should you wish to access our study materials after the relevant courses examination date, you will need to re-enrol into a later course.

As a returning candidate of our written courses, you are entitled to a discount on this enrolment.

Discount codes must be requested prior to registering and utilised at the time of registration. GP Academy is not able to apply a discount or process a discount code after registration is processed.

This is a common question with no simple answer, as the preparation required depends on your prior knowledge and experience. On average, our expert team recommends that candidates spend about 4 to 5 months studying for the AKT/KFP written exams.

It is more difficult to recommend a time frame for CCE preparation, as it can vary depending on the individual. Nonetheless, our expert team recommends a lot of practice as the examiners are looking for how competent you are as a health professional. They are looking to see if you are able to make the patient feel comfortable and satisfied with the care received. Typically, examiners are looking for candidates to establish a strong rapport and provide a clear explanation to the patient before demonstrating competent medical knowledge.

GPs working in rural and remote locations may be eligible for funding under the Rural Health Workforce Scholarship Program (HWSP). Please contact the Rural Workforce Agency in your state or territory for more information.

Although GP Academy and the expert team provides participants with all the resources required to pass each exam, we cannot guarantee that you will pass your exam by taking a course. Your success is determined by several factors including your effort put into studying, medical knowledge and skills, and our expert team will address your individual needs so you will feel prepared.

Of course! GP Academy courses are beneficial to all GPs regardless of their circumstances. Our courses are very dynamic and the topics discussed are constantly updated. However, there will still be aspects of the RACGP exams that frequently reoccur, so attending these courses will still be helpful.

The usual exam references we use are:

  • Therapeutic Guidelines
  • Checks
  • Australian guidelines
  • AJGP
  • UpToDate

All of the topics that we cover are supported by references. The Student Portal provides you with all the information you need to plan your studying without the hassle of searching for what you need to read.

For the Clinical CCE course, GP Academy provides a large number of additional clinical examination cases, educational videos, case videos and study materials throughout the course. For more information, please read the Information Package and Course Programs for your desired course.

Comprehensive Clinical Exams Programs (CCE):

If, for any reason, you are unsatisfied or unable to continue any of the Comprehensive Clinical Exams Program after registration, you are entitled to a 90% refund of your total registration fee. The following conditions apply:
